43% of Consumers Attend Worship Services

When Greenfield Online/Ciao Surveys asked approximately 1,200 respondents about their worship habits, we learned some interesting things. First, 43% of consumers regularly attend worship services; however, a resounding 82% of consumers believe it is NOT necessary to attend worship services in order to be considered a religious person.

Interestingly, some respondents appear to spend a considerable amount of time attending worship services. Among those who do go to services (43%), approximately 39% attend 1-2 times per week. 10% are attending services more than 5 times per month. 3% are attending once per day, and an additional 3% are even going more than once per day.

As you can see from the results, approximately 14% of all respondents (approximately 1,200) stated they believe it is necessary to attend worship services in order to be religious. However, 82% said that they believe one can be religious without attending services. 4% declined to answer the question.
